Databases

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of database systems, as well as the modeling, design, and manipulation of relational databases. Students will acquire the knowledge necessary to describe databases, including their characteristics, functions, advantages, and disadvantages. Topics covered include data modeling, database design theory, data definition and manipulation languages, storage, indexing techniques, and more. The course will also enable students to create and manage databases using the MySQL database management system. A brief overview of NoSQL database models is also provided.
