Markos Zampoglou was born in Thessaloniki in 1981. He graduated from the Department of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia, holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from the University of Macedonia. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engineering and at the Center for Research and Technology Hellas - Information Technologies Institute.
His main research interests have focused on the applications of machine learning methods to multimedia information, with specific applications in image and video content recognition, computer vision, intelligent management of 3D information, web multimedia, web misinformation recognition, and image verification. His current research interests focus on the applications of data science to economics and management domains.
